Abstract

This paper focuses on the value (and problem) of legal certainty in the Greek legal culture. The absence of jurists and of a concept of law, as distinct from other social functions, makes this research difficult, but not impossible. In particular, the author examines the contribution of philosophical thought, between Plato and Aristotle (and Theophrastus), also in comparison with a first rhetorical source (the work of Lysias).
