Abstract

The article points out some questions to which the mass theory established by Bluhme, as well as competing approaches, has not yet provided satisfactory answers, and outlines possible methodological starting points for further research. Particular emphasis is placed on the treatment of the various libri institutionum and regularum within the compilation process, as well as on the role of literary genres and the dichotomy between ius civile and ius honorarium.
