Abstract

The inclusive model of civitas and the constant drive for integration have characterized Rome since its founding. These characteristics are perfectly represented in the remembrance that the Roman historian Titus Livius recalls to us about Romulus’ establishment of an asylum on the Capitol Hill. The fact represents an important evidence to how the Romans wanted to represent themselves from the very beginning.
