Abstract

This ‘note’ is inspired by the free conversation held – along with Eva Cantarella, Luigi Garofalo, and Aglaia McClintock – on September 29, 2022, at the University of Sannio, on the occasion of the publication of Maurizio Bettini’s essay, Roma, città della parola. Oralità, Memoria, Diritto, Religione, Poesia. The text of the speech has been partially revised and integrated through an essential critical apparatus, with the desire to maintain the original structure. And – given the theme – its (essentially) ‘oral’ nature.
